I have detailed 10 of the top Naples golf course communities below, all with private courses requiring membership. There are quite a few more I wanted to add to the list but I had to stop at 10 as this post is a bit lengthy as it is, there are just so many great options in Naples. I’m in regular contact with the membership directors and help my customers understand and navigate the membership process and the golf membership waitlists which currently exist at most but not all clubs. Also, most clubs (but not all) allow a buyer to bypass the golf membership waitlist if they are purchasing a home where the seller is giving up their golf membership upon sale of the home. Typically this doesn’t avoid the membership initiation fee but does bypass a lengthy and what is often a multi-year wait. Clubs offer a varying amount of play when on their waitlists and also offer expanded privileges in the off-season. Several of the clubs even have waitlists for their waitlists!

Nestled in the Cocohatchee Strand Nature Preserve is the Bay Colony Golf Club championship-length course. The Bay Colony Club features an 18-hole championship golf course designed by renowned architect Robert von Hagge.  The course offers a challenging and enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. With no tee times to restrain your playing, Bay Colony Golf Club provides its members an elite experience. This course was named one of Florida’s Top 100 Courses for its immaculately manicured fairways and relaxing ambiance.

The Bay Colony Golf Club is physically located in the gated Estates at Bay Colony neighborhood tucked within the master planned community of Pelican Marsh. Residents of this exclusive 75-home neighborhood are granted membership at the Bay Colony Beach & Tennis Club which is located 2.5 miles away on the beach within Pelican Bay. Estates at Bay Colony residents have access to a private beach club along the Gulf, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a variety of social and recreational amenities plus all the amenities of the Pelican Marsh community.

Bay Colony at Pelican Bay has a total of 865 doors with 158 single family residences and 707 condos among 11 luxury condominiums; 6 are Beachfront (407 units and 5 are Preserve (400 units). Prices start around $3 million and go up to over $25 million for homes at the Strand at Bay Colony, a collection of 9 unique beachfront estates. The average price per square foot of Bay Colony properties sold in 2023 was approximately $1800/SF.

Ideally designed for an avid golfer, the Bonita Bay Club is an award-winning private golf and sports club, boasting 5 world-class courses and 90 holes of golf, 3 practice golf facilities, short game practice areas, PGA professional staff-lead clincs, short game schools video teaching and a Golf Lab.

The all-encompassing Bonita Bay Club offers two clubhouses, one of which spans about 55,000 square feet, and plentiful social activities, including pickleball, tennis, zero-entry saltwater pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a full service spa, 5 dining options and more.

The Bonita Bay Club West has 3 courses designed by Arthur Hills. The 2 additional Tom Fazio designed courses are at Bonita Bay Club East in north Naples about 30 minutes away.

1. The Marsh showcases beautiful oak trees, which add to the natural wetland terrain.

A unique amenity Bonita Bay offers residents is a full service marina that allows direct access to the Gulf of Mexico via the Imperial River and Estero Bay. Relax at Backwater Jacks, the waterfront restaurant located at the marina after you return from boating or an excursion with several charter operations that are based within the marina. The marina is sizable with 98 wet slips and dry storage for 326 vessels up to 34′ in length.

Bonita Bay is a larger master planned community that spans 2400 acres and contains 3300 residences spread among 56 neighborhoods with a variety of property types including high rise condominium towers, low rise condominiums, villas and 1250 single family homes. Prices within Bonita Bay vary considerably due to the wide range of property types and in 2023 condos sale prices started around $400k and went up to over $9M for a Penthouse within Omega, a brand new luxury high-rise condominium tower. The 2023 average price per square foot for a property within Bonita Bay was around $600/SF.

Fiddler’s Creek allows beginners and enthusiasts to experience a premier challenging golf experience. For consecutively 14 years now, the Fiddlers Creek Golf Club has had the honor of being recognized by Golfweek as a championship course, famous for its challenging layout, its 18 holes of play, and breathtaking views.

Fiddlers Creek Golf Club is undergoing a significant overhaul with a brand new clubhouse under construction expected to be complete in 2024 and then the golf course will undergo a complete renovation.

Other amenities within Fiddlers Creek include a resort-style swimming complex with multiple pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and an extensive network of walking and biking trails. In addition to these amenities, Fiddler’s Creek provides a variety of social clubs and organized activities year-round.

A unique amenity that Fiddlers Creek offers is it’s optional Tarpon Club membership which provides access to beach and boating, both of which many consider essential for life in SWFL! The Tarpon Club Marina is located nearby on the Isles of Capri and the Beach Pavillion on Marco Island provides members with valet parking, lounge chairs, umbrella/towel service as well as food and beverage service.

Fiddler’s Creek is a large master planned community located in southeast Naples located about 15 minutes from Marco Island. The complex spans 4000 acres with about 2800 homes currently constructed and full buildout is planned to include approximately 4000 residences. Fiddler’s Creek is one of the few Naples private golf course communities that is still building new homes so it can be an attractive option for buyers looking for a brand new residence. In 2023, prices started at $400k and topped out just over $4M for a 6800 square foot single family home. The average selling price for a property in Fiddler’s Creek in 2023 was approximately $455/SF.

Conveniently located in north Naples, Quail West Golf & Country Club is among the top golf communities in Naples. With world class amenities, hundreds of luxurious estate homes and two Arthur Hills-designed courses, it offers challenging play in a stunning natural setting.

The Lakes Course, characterized by its water features and preserved wetlands, provides a tranquil and picturesque setting for a challenging round of golf. On the other hand, the Preserve Course, with its dense oak, pine, and cypress trees, offers a more secluded and intimate golfing atmosphere.

Members of Quail West Golf & Country Club enjoy a luxury lifestyle. The 100,000-square-foot Grand Clubhouse is a hub of social and recreational activities, featuring dining options, lounges, card rooms, and a well-equipped pro shop for all golfing needs.

Aside from golf, Quail West offers an impressive array of amenities, including eight red-clay tennis courts, a full-service story fitness center, a spa/salon for special retreats, a resort-style pool, and an extensive social events and activities program.

The Quail West Community is located about 15 minutes from the beach, 20 minutes from the Southwest Florida International Airport and includes 660 single family homes and no condominiums. Most of the homes are on estate lots with 0.5 to 1.0 acres and there are two neighborhoods of approximately 84 detached villas on smaller lot sizes of 0.25 to 0.40 acres. Prices in Quail West range from $2M to $10M+ with a significant number of homes in the $4M to $8M range. Quail West has a larger concentration of newer homes compared to the other golf communities in Naples. Some of the homes come with a transferrable beach club membership to The Club at Barefoot Beach.

Many consider Grey Oaks Country Club the most desired private golf community in Naples FL because of it’s proximity to Old Naples and the access to an extensive range of amenities including three private championship caliber golf courses. There are two main areas within the community, Grey Oaks and Estuary at Grey Oaks which are separated by Airport-Pulling Road and both offer a variety of neighborhoods with several residential options, including estate homes, single-family homes, villas and condos.

Located in central Naples about 3 miles from the beach and a 15 minute drive from Downtown Old Naples, Grey Oaks Country Club offers it’s members 3 mesmerizing 18-hole courses, each with unique attributes:

• The Pine Course has been touted as one of the “Toughest Private Golf Courses in Florida” by Florida Trend Magazine and was renovated in 2023 by Andrew Green, a renowned golf course restoration specialist and industry leading golf course architect.
• The Gray Oaks Estuary golf course winds beneath old-growth cypress and oak trees. The Estuary Course was renovated in 2018 by Bruce Howard and Tim Liddy.
• For a tiered rock waterfall alongside white-sand beaches, try the Palm Course. The Palm Course was renovated in 2017 by Bob Cupp and Tim Liddy.

Grey Oaks offers a total of 900 homes within the community; 775 single-family homes and 125 condominiums. The Estuary at Grey Oaks has 170 single family homes and no condominiums and Grey Oaks is comprised of 605 single family homes and 125 condominiums. In 2023, prices ranged from just under $2M to $9M for an 11,800 SF estate with 8 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Prices in Grey Oaks averaged $960/SF in 2023.

Grey Oaks homes are highly desirable, as you can imagine, and worth a look for every golf enthusiast.

The Club at Mediterra, inspired by the Mediterranean countryside, spans over 1,700 acres and offers diverse property types in north Naples and south Bonita Springs.

In 2023 The Club at Mediterra started a complete renovation of their Beach Club facility as well as an expansion of the Sports Club to include a poolside Sports Cafe adjacent to the racquets center. The Beach Club is a unique offering for a private Country Club in Naples and is a prized amenity that includes a restaurant, bar and elevated pool overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and Bonita Beach.

There will be approximately 930 residences in Mediterra when finally built out and it’s getting close to that point with only a few vacant lots still remaining. There are a variety of property types in Mediterra with 225 condominiums and 705 villas and single family homes. In 2023, prices ranged from $1.1M to just under $6.775M for a 6500 SF furnished home built in 2011. The average price per square foot for a property in Mediterra in 2023 was $850/SF.
